Things you can do
1. Volunteer for field trips by becoming an MVP
Help us out with one of our field trips, concerts, or even a class party! If you are interested in possibly volunteering with any of our activities you will need to be one of Shawnee Missions MVP's. This requires a simple background check and one training session held at the CAA.
2. Supplies We'd love!
Every now and then parents ask if there are any supplies they could buy for the classroom. Since that is usually an ever changing list I've posted my amazon wishlist below for classroom supplies.
I have also had students/parents want to get things for me personally for teacher appreciation week. While I highly encourage students to write hand written notes in lieu of buying anything, if you do feel the need, I would love for it to be things I can use at school.
3. Music We Want ❤️
We cycle through a lot of music here in the choral department. While SMSD has an incredible library, the majority of that music is not accessible for the middle school changing voice. Our library also flooded a few years back and the majority of the music that was damaged was middle school literature.
I have a running list of music I'd love to buy for the students each year and JW Pepper gift cards are one of the easiest way for me to buy them new music. Not only is this a great way to directly impact your students education, this music gets reused and added to the library for years to come!
